Beginnings of Judaism
Monday evenings, 7-8:30pm, beginning November 7th
“…a spirited and provocative exploration of how the Jewish faith
struggled to continually redefine itself during the first thousand years …
tenaciously clinging to existence through circumstances that might well have
torn it asunder.” (24 sessions)
Video lecture followed by discussion.

Tuesday evenings, 5:30-6:00pm, Continuing
throughout the year, with Rabbi Cantor
Join us as we discuss a chapter-a-week from the insightful book, “Gateway to
Judaism” by Rabbi Mordechai Becher.
This course is
free of charge, but please purchase your own copy of the book.
Synagogue Skills 101 with Rabbi Cantor
Tuesday evenings, 6:30-8pm, November 1st through mid-May
Three privileges of being a Jewish adult (“bar/bat mitzvah”) are leading
services, chanting scripture, and teaching Torah.
Classes in leading the weekday and Sabbath prayer services with
understanding, Torah reading, and how to compose and deliver a D’var Torah.
At the conclusion of the course, participants will be eligible to celebrate
an “Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah.”
Reading Hebrew is a prerequisite for this course
This course is only open to members of B’nai Zion and is free
of charge. However if you choose to be part of the Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah,
there will be a financial obligation
Walking with Life
Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm, beginning November 2nd
An exploration of the “liminal moments” of the Jewish life cycle
through the study and discussion of traditional texts and modern essays. (12
sessions)
$10 for
members; $20 for non-members
